78 Years of Cupitt Jeweller

We have been supplying and making quality jewellery and watches in Bromsgrove since 1946. Here are some of the moments in our history that have helped us to become what we are today.

1946

Claud Cupitt started the business after completing his active service in World War 2, advertising as a watchmaker and jeweller.

1964

Jim Cupitt completed his 3 year training as a watchmaker , winning first prize in his examinations.

1966

Jim Cupitt became a partner to trade as C.Cupitt and Son. Here is Jim with his wife Sue

1979

Claude Cupitt retired, allowing Jim and his wife Sue
to purchase the building of the present shop at Beech Tree House –a previously run down building as driving school and hairdresser.

1989

Cupitt Jeweller provided the tiara for the Miss
Bromsgrove contest as the victors crowning glory.

1991

Cupitt Jeweller provided Jo-Anne Willets with her
winning set of cultured Mikimoto pearls worth £500 after becoming the Pearl Princess of the Pearl Princess National NAG Competition.

1994

Cupitt Jeweller teamed up with Bromsgrove Advertiser,
offering a £200 golden necklace to local winner Dorothy Colley and £10 vouchers to five runners up.

1995 Three Generations

Simon Cupitt joined the shop with his wife Åsa and enrolled in the School of Jewellers with a talent for design and craft skills. Here he is with Jim and Claude Cupitt - 3 generations.

1997

Simon Cupitt graduates with a grade A in the Retail Jewellers Diploma Examination.

1999

Cupitt Jeweller were asked to produce silver replicas
of the medieval Abberly Spoon as part of a project to restore St Michael C of E Church. Here is Jim Cupitt with the spoons he made.

2012

Simon Cupitt takes over the running of Cupitt Jeweller. Here he is with his wife Asa.

2012

Simon takes part in a charity ride to raise money for fighting Motor Neurone Disease. Sadly, he passes away the next year from this disease.

2013

Asa Cupitt, Simon's wife takes over the running of the shop.

2014

The shop undergoes a major remodel.

2015

Keith Norton joins the team to become our resident jeweller in the workshop above the shop.

2016

The platinum anniversary of Cupitt Jeweller after 70 years of service to the community. The shop celebrated by launching a new jewellery collection 'Northern Lights' and opening a weddings and commissions room.

2021 Fourth Generation

Ella Cupitt enrolls at the British Academy of Jewellery and becomes the fourth generation of Cupitts working at the shop.
